Alannah Sears is a multi-media artist based in New York City, with drawing at her core. Sears is drawn to themes of self-image, womanhood, societal expectations, and the universality of human connection. Rebellious at heart, she breaks the constraining barriers of the “ideal woman” and finds peace in her figures' folds, warping, and manipulation. Alannah’s radical vulnerability challenges the viewer to confront their deepest selves to feel seen. Alannah Sears has been shown in Brooklyn, Chelsea, and Inwood and has had the pleasure of residence at the Joan Mitchell Center, Joan Mitchell Foundation NYC offices, and, most recently, Vermont Studio Center.
